LA Times En Espaňol/Hoy will host a Manifestation and Affirmation Tree & Recording: attendees can pin their affirmations for success on the Manifestation Tree and then record a 30-second capsule entitled "Your story is important" about your experience at LATINAFest and your manifestation. Selected recordings will be included in a LATINAFest Podcast!
LIVE INTERACTIVE PAINTING

East L.A. Artist/Entrepreneur Sand One: will be doing a live interactive drawing of her famous 20 foot sassy women with big eyes and lashes at LATINAFest. The audience is invited to help her with her paining of her comic “dolls” on the walls of a 15 foot U-haul.

SHAKIRA BARRERA
Actress/Dancer
Shakira is a Nicaraguan-American actress and dancer from Englewood, New Jersey. She is best known for her role as "Yolanda" aka "Yo-Yo" on Netflix's Emmy Nominated "Glow" (2018). Shakira graduated from Rutgers University with a B.F.A in Dance from the Mason Gross School of Arts in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

It was when she was attending college that she got her first taste of the entertainment industry — she was surprised on campus by The Coca-Cola Company announcing she was cast as a Fanta (carbonated drink) girl.
​
She is passionate about helping the Nicaraguan community, which is her heritage.

JOSEFINA LOPEZ
Screenwriter of movie Real Women Have Curves, Producer/Entrepreneur & Life Coach
Josefina is best known for authoring the play and co-authoring the film Real Women Have Curves, who had her first play published at age 17. A native of Boyle Heights, she felt it was important to open a theater in Boyle Heights, CASA 0101 to highlight Latino stories on stage. A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, France and culinary aficionado, she opened a restaurant CasaFina a few blocks from CASA 0101.
ANGELES ELENA VAN RYIZN
Sr. Engineer at KIA, Performance and Drivability Development Team
Angeles migrated to the U.S. as a young child from Mexico, she worked hard to become an engineer. While pregnant, Angeles traveled to Korea for Kia Telluride (SUV) meetings and planning, at 8 months pregnant she was in Death Valley hovering over the hood of a Telluride conducting all the test to ensure her work on the torque was perfect.
